Despite Angela’s continued explanation that the breakup was due to his drunken bad behavior and mistreatment of her, Emmett can’t get out of his own way. He continues to feel discarded and makes Angela miserable in return, but funds himself at a crossroads. When Emmett notices the study having a strange impact on Angela, he has to decide whether or not to put his hard feelings aside and attempt to help her.
